In this log, I hope to examine and share issues and science related to the field of my expertise; gasoline engine spark plugs.
Spark plugs are more than just another engine component, they are at the heart of the combustion process. Advanced spark plug engineering has the capability to dramatically improve the efficiency and power of the gasoline engine. Many people have tried to improve the spark plug, some have succeeded, some have not. The difficult part of improving the spark plug is that a solid understanding of electomagnetics, combustion and chemistry is needed, as well as knowledge of the constraints of manufacturing needed to make any advanced design a reality.
I am the inventor of the Sonic Spark Plug, which is a modification of OEM spark plugs to generate ultra sonic vibration during combustion. It is important that the sonic spark plug be modified to standard OEM specifications for dimensions, heat range, type and gap. Originally, the spark plug number was a performance optimization for that engine by the manufacturer’s tests.
I look forward to sharing my knowledge and communicating with my readers.
Thank you!
